Concept
Riding Solo is a social app concept created around the idea that going to an event alone doesn’t have to mean experiencing it alone. The app helps people connect with others who share their interests or are attending the same event. Making it easier to find someone to go with, meet new people and feel part of the experience.
The concept extends beyond simply finding a companion. Through activities before the event, social connections and low pressure suggestions during the event. Riding Solo creates natural opportunities for people to get to know each other, without making it feel like dating or forced networking.
Originally developed for Gothenburg Horse Show, the concept can be applied to different types of events, from sports and concerts to cultural experiences. The idea is simple: you may arrive solo, but you don’t have to experience it alone.
My Role
We developed the Riding Solo concept collaboratively, with a strong focus on idea development. Our main brief was to create the app and email communication.
I initially explored the app concept with another designer (Iryna Voitsikhovska), then further developed it into a complete app experience, including the UI, visual direction and user flow. I also created my own versions of the posters and further developed the campaign across social media and digital touchpoints. The ticket was designed by the Art Director and incorporated into the email design.
We collaborated closely with the Art Director (Alexander Trunk), Copywriter (Vera), Print Designer (Johan) and Event Designers (Emilia Jansson & Annie) to create a cohesive concept across the campaign and event experience. AI-generated imagery was used in the beginning as part of the visual development and campaign execution and was then further developed and refined by us.
